This course explores the cognitive and neural processes that support attention, vision, language, motor control, navigation, and memory. It introduces basic neuroanatomy, functional imaging techniques, and behavioral measures of cognition, and discusses methods by which inferences about the brain bases of cognition are made.

Cognitive neuroscience is one of psychology’s most fast-moving and fundamental areas, bringing together aspects of psychology and neuroscience. On our Cognitive Neuroscience Master’s programme you will combine research methodology training with in-depth study at the cutting edge of the field to gain understanding of the neural basis for cognition and sensorimotor skills. Cognitive neuroscience examines the biological processes that help us to understand complex mental functions such as memory, language, emotion, perception, attention and consciousness. Abstract: Cognitive neuroscience has witnessed two decades of rapid growth, thanks in large part to the continued development of fMRI methods. In my talk, I will question what this work has told us about brain function, and will propose that cognitive neuroscience needs to change in at least neuroscience- the scientific study of the nervous system cognitive science- the field of science concerned with cognition; includes parts of cognitive psychology and linguistics and computer science and cognitive neuroscience and philosophy of mind Based on WordNet 3.0, Farlex clipart collection. © 2003-2012 Princeton University, Farlex Inc.
